Duran at 4 Weeks

Farrier

On the horse with thrush (Duran), the results as of 4 weeks are VERY good.  The foot looks MUCH healthier, there is NO sign of thrush, and the frog is returning to a normal state.  This is very good, especially when considering this horse is fairly old (mid 20’s), has some arthritis and does not move around a lot!

In the second case, the feet are much improved and are now very healthy, especially the frog area.  The sole is also healthy, but the problem area is primarily the frog, which is where I saw the most improvement. The frog area was very soft and shredded before the shoes.  It is now dry and the tissue is solid and healthy.   It may not be totally obvious, but it is vastly improved from 4 weeks ago.   I will be taking more pictures when the horse is reshod in 4 weeks.  In this case, I will be able to reset the shoes at least one more cycle.  Here are a couple more pics.
